    Worst. Week. Ever!

I just spent the past 4 days, for 12 hours each day, working on my letter of intent for a research project! The letter itself only too me 45 minutes to write, the appendices and tables took me all the rest of the time!! 20 pages of stuff!! Gragiadjdigajg.

And to top that off, I had a Sociology paper due today as well, that I didn’t get time to work on, so last time and all day today I was scrambling to write the darn thing. Got it done, but 250 words too short and horrible. Oh well.

On a happier note, my countdown is at 99 days now! Double digits! (if anyone was wondering, the numbers that are in the subject line of posts recently have been my countdown to disney!). WoooO!

… I”m just gonna crawl into a ball and cry now….

  • (100) Like Romeo and Juliet…

(Originally Published to my Livejournal, Creamsodaangel).

…minus the warring families and the death 😉

Been running a bit of a subplot of Fedspace between my character Julia Nielson and a friend of mine’s character, Gabriel Archer. Archer has just transferred aboard the Yeager. I have to say that this came out tremendously well, so for your reading pleasure I figured I would give you a taste of it.

It’s quite long (20 pages in Word), so grab a hot drink and enjoy! And just note that this will switch back and forth between their points of view.

  • (100) Someday.

I wipe a tear away, as I give up this day, wondering if I’ll ever find someone. And when I close my eyes and dream these are the words whispering, someday, love will come.

I won’t have a doubt, my head up in the clouds as certain as the morning sun, I will always believe there’s somebody just for me, someday love will come

Someday, after all these nights of waiting, someday I’ll find a chance worth taking, saving me, from waking up alone, my heart will find a home, someday.

So spring is upon us again up here in the frigid True North Strong & Free. And who said we were frozen 8 months of the year? Oh wait, I did. 😛 At least, while my relatives and friends living outside of this pleasant little bubble of the Lower Mainland are suffering with their -30C winter (did I mention with the windchill it makes it feel like -45C), my mom’s flowers are beginning to bloom in her garden.

Yep, you heard me. Flowers. Blooming. IN FEBRUARY!! 😛

I find this mostly humourous because I have several friends the good ol’ USA who enjoy making fun of our frigid winters. So while they’re currently sitting under snow down there, my mom’s plants are blooming.

Now I realise I can’t rub that in ALL my friends faces who like to tease me about riding a polar bear to school (his name is George), as one of them is currently wearing shorts and enjoying a rather pleasant winter. Not that I can’t wear shorts. Because I could if I really so desired it. But while I am an insane Canadian, I’m not THAT insane.

Well okay, maybe an insey bit.

Firefox is irritating me as of late. It likes to try and correct me on my Canadian English. I’m sorry if I spell things with a U, like HONOUR, FLAVOUR, COLOUR! I can’t help it. So while it doesn’t offer a UK version of their built in spellchecker, I have to make due and continuously add my Canadian eppelations to it’s already massive language database. Well, I don’t know if it’s massive, but you get the idea.

… I swear eppelation was a word two seconds ago. No wait! Stop underlining eppelation! I can’t help it if i think it’s a word! Nooo curse my 13 years of french!

… I wish I had a polar bear to ride to school. That would just be cool. Instead I have a car. A green car. It works well. Yay cars!

When I was younger I used to suffer from bouts of insomnia, and I have a feeling tonight it has returned. How depressing, especially since I’ve got to be up in about 6 hours to get up to go to class. And here I thought I had kicked my insomnia problem, but I guess not. I’m just too wired tonight. :'(

  • (108) the what now?

(Originally posted to my Livejournal, CreamSodaAngel)

Curious. Tonight in my Documentary Research class I found out that Canada now has an official slogan. Before we were just Canada, but now we’re Canada: The True North Strong and Free. I mean, we’ve always be known as that (it’s in our anthem, after all), except now the government has made it all official and such. You go to the GovCan website, and there it is.

Gave us all a good laugh.

    Anyone wanna buy some tshirts?

Remember to take chicken out of freezer BEFORE going to work (ie: way ahead of time) so that it has a chance to thaw. Otherwise dinner will take forever to make, and will leave you drooling for yummy Chicken and Lentil Curry for longer than necessary.

  • sick day (113)

(Originally posted to my Livejournal, Creamsodaangel)

Felt like I was hit by a bus when I woke up this morning. Not good, but alas I am surviving. Spent the day doing reading for class (getting ahead) and stalking FedSpace. Good times. Well, except being the sick part.

Going to curl up in bed and perhaps watch some ALIAS or Star Trek: First Contact. Have yet to decide.

Oh, and new Snow Pirate is up. Woo.

  • typical saturday? that it is (112)

(Originally posted to my Livejournal, Creamsodaangel)

So here we are, another Saturday, another day about to be spent at work. Joy. At least I got a few things accomplished today. Finally updated my Book Log. I’m not sure if I’ve ever plugged it on here, but yes, if you go to that link you can see my attempt at reviewing books. Feel free to leave comments or suggestions and the like, or not. Whatever works. I’m progressively getting better at the review thing, so we’ll see how it goes. I don’t care if I’m the only one who reads them. I have fun doing it 😉

I was cleaning out the set of drawers that is in our living room next to the chair that I always sit in (where I keep my stuff when I’m not using it) and I discovered a gst credit check! :O I was quite shocked, as I’ve had it for a month now and have yet to deposit it. Which is rather shocking for me, because they’re giving me my money back for being a poor university student. So free money is always good.

Someone chased the nice sunshine away that we’ve been having. It’s all cloudy and gloomy outside now. At least I’ll be in the bakery all day, so I wouldn’t see the sun anyway if it were out. But it’s still nice to see it a little bit. It brightens up my room so much. Oh well, perhaps Mr Sun will make a reappearance soon.

  • zee sun! zee sun! (119)

(originally posted to my Livejournal, Creamsodaangel)

I know I’ve been sparse as of late, but I’ve been really busy. Yikes.

Today is the first day in a long time that I’ve felt that feeling of dread before going to work. I haven’t felt in in a long long time, but today it’s just like “I really don’t want to go.” The feeling is a little unnerving. I’m not sure what causes it, because I do like my job (minus typical workplace drama that gets frustrating), but still.

One more episode and I’ll be done watching Season 1 of ALIAS (slow for me, I know, but I’ve been busy). However tonight I’m tempted to have a bit of a Star Trek marathon. Hmmmm.

The sun is out! 😀 This pleases me to no end!

… too bad I’ll be stuck in the bakery all day with no windows to see the nice sunshine.

Will read friends posts when I get home from work 😛
