  • sleep be good, ne?

    So la-dee-la here we are again. Sleepy that I am. Today’s classes were boring as heck. I fell asleep during the beginning. Do I need to learn how to write a thesis? Sure, when you’re in HIGHSCHOOL. My prof spent a half hour telling people how to do a thesis. >_< Oh well. I got a bit of sleep.
    Been mucking about with layouts. I spent about 3 hours this evening working on a livejournal style, that looked similar to my last layout with the redhead. Finally figured out how to put it up. Went with Tranquility II instead, because after all that work, why bother putting it up? Because I’m a dork, that’s why. Plus I have some other custom thingies. Tried to figure out the new layer system for S2, but it’s way too confusing for me at the moment. Yes yes. So now a very simple design. Though I’m going back and forth between the ones I like. Sigh sigh.

    Wants to go skating at the Civic Centre friday, i do. ^-^

    Happy St. Valentine’s Day all. Or should I say “Another-excuse-to-spend-money-and-be-even-bigger-consumers Day”. It’s amazing the Valentine’s day gifts I saw being toted around campus today. And no, I’m not one of those Valentine’s haters because I don’t have a sweetheart of my own. I do (you know who you are you hunky man you 😉 ). However, I don’t understand why people need one single day of the year to show their love. Seriously. Shouldn’t you be able to show your love on any of the other 365 days of the year? It does bother me that people blow this so called holiday out of proportion. One day of the year to show your love? Bullshit. Now pass me an easter chocolate.. that’s a holiday I can dig my teeth into 😀

    Owies. My mouth is numb. T_T Or, at least the side of it is. It hurts too. They only filled one cavity today because I asked for freezing on both (since they weren’t going to freeze one! o_o ). They said they couldn’t because they didn’t want to freeze the entire bottom of my mouth. So they only did the left one. Turned out it was deeper than he thought (the dentist). So he said that it was a good thing I was going to come back and get the other one frozen, just it case it was deeper than he thought as well. Now my cheek and part of my tongue are frozen and I can’t pronouce s, th, z, and all those fun sounds.
    For some reason I was thinking that I like the dentist. It was really weird. I had this illusion in my mind that I was fine with getting fillings. But when I went for my checkup, they brought up a comment my mom had made when I was little that I was scared of the dentist (because of something that happened to my brother). I was a little wary when they said this. After today I still have that uneasy feeling. 😛 I must have tricked myself that it would be okay. I mean, it was I survived. But when he whipped out that drill I could feel the uneasyness come back. T_T The checkup I was fine. This, no so much. Hopefully when I get my other one filled I’ll be okay.

    And don’t forget to stop by snowpirate. That would make me a very happy chikie. It’s friday, so there’s a new one.

    So it twas a very long day. Tired tiring all those lovely adjectives associated with tiredness.
    Thursday Ryan came over and we has Chinese takeout. Very good. We had a good chortle surfing Google Video. Which is a heck of a lot of fun. I watch the Manamana video at least once a day. XD Oh Muppets, how I miss thee. Also if you do make it over to Google Video, try and find the Chinese Backstreet Boys. It’s these two guys in front of a webcam lipsyncing to the Backstreet boys tunes. They do a hilarious job 😀 Plus there are clips from America’s Funniest Videos. How could anyone not love that? Ryan was killing himself laughing when we watched all of those. Plus the manamana song is stuck in my head all the time now. After that we popped H2G2 in the dvd player and got about half way through when Amy and Jason came over. We played a round of Scrabble, where Jason promptly won. Then we went downstairs where the guys played pool, I tried to unlock more DOAU costumes, and Amy giggled over some smutty harlequin. Twas good.
    Friday I wrote part of. Not all of it. But yes. After that post I went over to Amy’s, where we played Settlers of Cattan with her parents after having an icecream party with her little brother Rafi. I came close again to winning (1 point away!!) but her Dad won it by stealing my Longest Road card 😛 But it was good. Then we all talked together, minus Amy who was finishing a really good book called Anyone But You by Jennifer Crusie. It was a very good book! She lent it to me and I finished it last night. A little smutty true, but still very good.
    Saturday I opening at work. Boring. Bleh. Came home, went for my walk. Then Ryan and I went to his grandparents with his family for dinner. It was fun. It’s always fun, his family is a riot. XD Good stuff.
    Sunday I opened at work again. Came home. It was pouring out, so no walk for me. Got caught up on a few readings though, which is good. Plus read the book Amy leant me. I made a soup for dinner. Me, cooking a soup! It turned out alright. But not that hot. I ended up garborating the leftovers because I’m a moron and should have saved them for lunch tomorrow.
    Today when my alarm clock went off, I was sooo tired. The weekend just wore me out. Blech. Didn’t end up getting out of bed until 9, then went off to school. Did some stuff at uni (exciting, eh?). Came home and did a bit of computer stuff, then I went for a run. Me. Run. Me?
    Yes. After a week of doing my walking, I deemed my knees to be okay and went for a jog. Okay, not run, jog. Close enough. My knees were fine until about the end when almost at my culdesac. However, my knee wasn’t the problem. I am horribly -horribly- out of shape. I made it about halfway around my little route and got a horrible stitch in my side. It was bad. I had to walk it off a bit before I could finish. And then I nearly died when I got home.
    But I did it. XD
    It may seem like a small feat, but I’m still proud of myself.

    Okay. That was a long enough ramble from me. And livejournal almost lost my entry. But didn’t. Phew.

    So today was alight. Had to get up at 8 and take my car in for it’s service thing. Ended up spending 3 hours at the mall waiting. When I finally got it they said something was cracked (don’t remember what off the top of my head) and that it will cost me $800 to get a new one. Fudgeohcrap.
    Then I meandered over to Chapters, and Amy and I went for lunch. I came home and did some readings and such. And now, here I am. Hurrah! Supposed to do something… but at this point that looks like a no go. That’s okay because I get to get up at 5 tomorrow for work. I’m oh so excited.

    But I am excited because today La Senza had the mickey mouse pyjamas on sale! On sale!! No more overpriced stuff! So I bought a pair of the red flannel bottoms with mickey on them for $12.50, instead of the $34.99 regular price. Yes, very excited. ^-^

    Okay that’s it for me.

    I’m a genius. I wasn’t sure what time the bus is supposed to come at. So i looked it up. 941. That’s less than ten minutes!! ((my watch doesn’t say 931… it says 935.)) T_T Crud.

    I guess I’m driving today. Now I don’t have to leave for another hour. The bad thing is… I have to drive home during rush hour. XP And I can’t even take the HOV lane because I don’t know when Amy’s class is done. 😛 Go me go.

    What happend to the 9:51 bus?? I’m so sad. T_T

  • websites, comics, and university. oh my!

    So this morning I slogged through some more website stuff. Yay. I always get a huge chunk done, and then it’s like, bleh I don’t feel like doing this anymore. But I did get a whole bunch done yesterday as well. I’ve been working on astral spectre, so all I have left on it is design archive, and the gallery. I’m going to have the actual chapters down for a while because I just wanna do an edit (grammer, spelling, timeline stuff, etc). Silly, I know. BUt I’ve been working on the thing for so long, how can I just let it go?

    I was hoping to get the comics section up today as well at VintageBlue, with my weekly one… but I’m at a bit of a writers block on it. Maybe I’ll get it up anyway. I just need to iron out some things on the page, and then it can go up (which wouldn’t take long if I actually worked on it).

    That’s me for you. Queen of Lazy People. I’d ask all the lazy people to bow, but they’d be too lazy. ^-^

    I’m gonna go do some reading now. It needs to be done, and I don’t much feel like failing university. 😛

    In other Andrea news…
    Tonight was Ryan’s Mom’s birthday. So we went to the buffet at Fraser Downs in Cloverdale. It was fun. The horses I usually pick come in last, so I only bet once. The horse was named Hot News and he came in last XD Oh well. It was fun. Ryan was getting angry because the horses he picked would come in, but in a position that he hadn’t bet on (win, place, show). Poor guy. Then we went to the casino there. It wasn’t the fun one with coins though, just with those stupid slips. We both play $5. Mine didn’t last long. I started on the Jacks or Higher machine that I play sometimes, then tried a 2cent machine. The jacks one actually shows the dollar amount of how much you have, while the 2cent slot showed it in credits. So I ended up spending more credits than I’d intended. After that I went back to jacks or higher. Didn’t win anything.

    I then came home and panicked because I thought I might be working at 6 tomorrow. But that’s not until next weekend. Phew. That would have sucked. A lot.

    I didn’t actually get any of my reading done (oye, I’m horrible!) But I ran some errands for my mom, and got exercise! I decided to take the long way home (aka, around sorta where Megan lives and then up past Alex Hope Elementary). It was good. I walked fast to get my heartrate up, especially since I”m horribly out of shape. I felt great afterwards. So I’m gonna try and walk everyday. Maybe I can build my knees up to handle jogging again (I have bad knees, inhereted from family. yay). So, I’m mad at myself for not doing uni work, but glad that I’m exercising. ^-^

    Tomorrow the plan is to get up early, go do my walk, prep some chicken or something for dinner, then read until I have to go to work (with shower, dress, eat, all that stuff in there XD )

    Okay. Need sleep. I have a headache because there was a bit of smoking in the casino. 😛

    Gasp! New artwork! It’s a january miracle! o-o Actually, this picture is really old (from 2004), but I was scanning some new art and decided that there was a bunch of old stuff that never got scanned, and thus I was sad. Especially since the watercolours on this one was half decent. I tried some water colours the other day, and they were horrible. I wanted to jab my eyes out with my paintbrush it was horrible. Or not XD ((that one is coming soon, so be afraid!)). Critiques are welcome of course. Since I don’t take art classes anymore, I appreciate any tips, no matter how small ^-^

    So I heard we missed out on breaking that rainfall record or whatnot. Does anyone know how many days we missed it by? 2, maybe 3? Ah well, it was nice to see the sun for the few days. And by seeing the sun, I mean, seeing a bit of light coming over the shelving at work. I had to work for most of the sun, so I didn’t actually get to see much of it **shrug**.

    This morning I was just turning off my car at school and Ryan phoned. I was excited, because he never phones my cell. lol. And I think he’s afraid of phoning my house, because he usually waits to see if I’ll sign onto MSN first. Silly boy. You can call my cell any time ((well… except during class, because I have a tendancy to turn my phone off during class because nobody phones me anyway)). Yeah, that’s right. I usually phone people. Like Amy. She’s all shocked when I phone, because we don’t often talk on the phone. I did it the other day when I was on a coffee break at work, and she was kinda wondering why I just phoned out of the blue. Just to talk. Usually when I phone people it’s to plan stuff, so everyone is worried and paranoid when I phone for other reasons.

    I guess the cellphone rage went over my head, because it’s few and far between that I used mine. All the better I guess ^-^

    Okay, I’m off to finish the chapter I need to read by C. Wright Mills (I’m loving the book XD) for Sociolgy. Found out we’re supposed to read the stuff -before- the lecture, instead of before tutorials, like it usually is. Oh well.

    So today was an interesting day. I woke up rather late to an incredibly painful plugged sinus. It really sucked. After my shower it went away though, so it was good. I did a bit of muscle training (wasn’t lazy for once, wheee!) which made me feel good all morning as well. Was lazy most of the morning though.

    Spent my lovely 1 1/2 on transit. My class downtown seems like it’ll be interesting which is good. More reading for me to do.

    Tonight I got to see some of the unlocked costumes for DOAU. It was fun. Ryan unlocked a few more, and then we played against each other. Fun ^-^ I brought it home with me so I can unlock the costumes on my xbox. Which will be a lot of fun ( I’m a geek for that kind of stuff ). A lot of the girls outfits are really skimpy. Oh well I guess. It’s funny though, because the girls have way more costumes than the guys XD

    Today felt more like thursday all day for me. I never could get the hang of thursdays.

    So tomorrow I’ve got REM again and my Sociology tutorial. Then I’m coming home and being lazy, as always. Such is the life I lead XD

    I always find it funny on transit when the ‘1 seat rule’ appears. XD If you don’t know the one seat rule, it’s when people automatically sit with one seat space in between each other. It’s really strange why we do it, I guess it’s just a personal space issue or something. If I knew anything about psycology, maybe I’d have a better answer. XD

    Okay, enough being dorky.
